Pagerize This! #22 by Tamara

Yesterday we had a reminder of who we are Pagerizing aka scraplifting this month. That was Debbie's layout here:

Well I decided to continue this challenge throughout the end of this month and  we have another to show you now :) This one is by our designer, Tamara. Here is what she had to say and her layout :)
Deb♥

I am excited to finally get some of my photos scrapped from the 2002 Winter Olympics.  This page was perfect to fit four of the Men's ski jumping competition on.  I kept it pretty basic.  The title is a window Cling I had purchased. I love how I was able to put it to good use.  I also used some stickers that were made specifically for the Olympics, a limited edition.  This sketch can be used in so many ways.  Jump on in and take a turn.  I would love to see your spin on it!

PagerizeThis! #22 by Wendy

Pagerizing by our own Wendy C!!! Remember  we lifted Debbie's?

Well  now here is a word from Wendy and her layout inspired by Debbie's above..Deb♥

I love multi photo layouts!  And this Pagerize challenge was the perfect time to use these fun pictures of me teaching my kids how to dance.  I even broke out the punches to make some flower accents.  :)

BTS by Tammy

Have you played along with BTS?

Tammy,  our designer here at SOS did! Here she is...

For this challenge I found some pictures of my kids eating watermelon from when we went camping last summer that I really wanted to scrap.  I knew I had the perfect paper in my stash, some Jillibean Soup with watermelons all over it!  I used B: banners and buttons; T: thickers; S: stickers and sketch (from Allison Davis) for inspiration.  There are really so many possibilities for the BTS challenge, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

and guess what? She liked this challenge enough  to do it twice! How about that?
Deb♥

For this BTS challenge layout I found the cutest pictures of my mom with my youngest daughter when she was just a few of days old (she just turned 5 years old two days ago!)  I used B: Bella Blvd papers; T: Thickers for the title; and S: a sketch from Allison Davis for inspiration.  Let's see what great things you can come up with for the BTS challenge!

BTS by Ange

We have another designer stopping in with her BTS today. Here's Ange, oh and come play! There are a few more days! Go here so you  can see how we played too :)
Deb♥

My BTS layout is actually using the Back to School photo I took of my son last year. Nice to get it scrapped. I also added this little photo of him when he was 3, it's fun to see the similarities and differences after 5 years.

So for my B I used this little green button that was just sitting on my scrap table. I don't remember where it came from, maybe off a shirt. lol T I used some brown twine to tie up the button and for S I did some sewing on my layout.

I also used a Fiskars punch for the top border and trim above the photo, some doodling, inking, date stamp and lots of fun Moxxie Forever Family paper.

Try out this fun challenge and send in your layout for us to see!

Cathi said this:
I'd like to enter this layout for the BTS challenge. It is a photo of
my daughter running free at the beach this summer in Oregon...such a
wonderful moment captured! The B is for balloons, butterflies and
bling, the T is for the template (chicken wire) I used and the S is
for the Sketch I used by Nadia Cannizzo...and for the stamped word
"free" I used!

I just found the challenge blog and have saved it to my favorites and
hope to come back and pagerize and use my stash which grows with each
new kit I receive over here in our craft shop bereft beautiful
Ireland!! As an expat American, I loved going back to the States for
some real life retail therapy instead of computerized this summer...my
first shopping spree for scrappy products as my obsession is just over
a year old!

Show and Tell with Wendy C

Most if not all children have now returned back to school for the 2012-2013 school season. Using our BTS theme idea, Wendy went "Back to School" to show and tell with us today. Here is her way of showing us a great way to display children's awards that they earn during their school year!

BTS by Tamara

This was such a fun challenge BTS to me right now is Back to Scrapping! I needed this push to get me going again in my family chronological scrapbook. I am currently scrapping the year 2002 and I was ready to get my Torch run layout finished. I used B- buttons and place them strategically about the page. T- I used twine to add the trim on the bottom and tied a bow. Then I also created a start and wrapped the twine around it for a different look. S`- my silver was added by using silver numbers in the right hand bottom corner (02) also I added silver bling jewels to ever other dot on my scallop strip. I loved doing something different with the BTS theme! Hope you enjoy taking on this challenge too!!

Welcome to our Guest Designer, Kelly!

Kelly participated in our SOS challenge last month and because of her layout she has been chosen to be our guest designer for this month! Please help me welcome her and take a look at her really nice projects. I know you will love them as much as I do!
Deb♥

My name is Kelly and I live in Texas with my hubby of 14 years who is very supportive of my crafting habit. We have 2 boys ages 13 and 12 as well as a 2 year old puppy who is our baby. After my boys were born, I stayed at home and started a small home daycare. I’ve always had a love for art and paper since I was young, doodling on all my notebooks and cross stitching. I started collecting memorabilia back in high school to put in a scrapbook my Mom had created by painting on the pages. The last several years have been such fun creating with all the products in the market now. I enjoy mixing different paper lines, painting, distressing along with creating in clean lines. I am a big fan of using sketches for inspiration and love going to the GASC every year to check out the latest & greatest as well as taking classes to learn more. I also love making cards and occasionally altering items when time allows. Other hobbies I enjoy are reading, gardening, fishing, watching my boys play sports, and quilting.

For several years, I helped run the Scrap N Chat board (http://scrapnchat62240.yuku.com/) as an admin and I am currently on the amazing Design Team at Paper Secrets (www.papersecrets.net) and Sketch N Scrap (http://sketchnscrap.blogspot.com). You can find more of my work at http://www.creatingwithpaperandmore.blogspot.com/

I am so honored to be a Guest Designer here at Scrap Our Stash and love all the inspiration SOS gives me to use my supplies! :)

BTS by Sarah

Our BTS challenge this month has so many possibilities! Go here to see how you too can play and maybe be our next guest designer!!!Thanks, Deb♥

SOS Designer Sarah has a clever idea today using our BTS challenge :)

BTS usually means Back to School, but not here at SOS this month! This month it means you are to use your stash with anything that begins with the letters in BTS!!!
B might mean buttons and brads
T might mean twine and tin
S might mean sequins and silver
Remember YOU choose what B, T, and S mean and dig into that stash of yours!
*******
Ha!
BTS means something to all of us in this house right now...
Boxes, Tape & Stress!
We are moving...
We don't know when but we know it's within the next 2 months.
Due to the decline of my Mother's motility after being hit by car, with the light as a pedestrian crossing the road withing the crosswalk, back in April; and my Father's Alzheimer's starting to get to the 'we need to plan ahead' stage... We've all come to the decision that we're best getting a 2 home-house together now. In hopes that my parents will be able to live longer, happier lives in a *house* (yard, keep theirs dogs etc...) with family to help. On our end it means my parents are quite willing to help out with homework (with 4 boys that's no small task!) and passing on some of their knowledge and stories now, before they disappear (as in my Dad's case).
It's win-win! Considering the amount of time we all spend at each other's houses now we'll also gain heaps of travel time back... lol.
In the meantime we're playing what I refer to as the 'Game of Homes' as we go through each stage of the game: selling their house, making an offer on a new one, moving and then fixing and selling ours. That means we're living in Box-Ville and it's growing every day.
Most of my Studio has been packed up so I'm trying operate on a bare minimum of supplies... hence my page! Used a piece of scrap box, packing tape, stickers, single rub-on and Sharpies for the titling... and embellished with a snipped up sheet of BoBunny Rub-Ons scattered all over.
Scrapping my very limited Stash!

Bit of angle for less shiny...

Title up close:

Welcome to Our Designer of the Month, Elizabeth

Hi Everyone! It's Deb and I just wanted to drop by to let you know that this month I chose our designer Elizabeth to be our Designer of the Month. Read on and learn more about her! She is a very interesting lady :)
Deb♥

I’m a 64 year old Scotswoman who has been crafting for about 60 of those years and I’m fairly proficient at most forms of needlework - embroidery, tapestry, cross-stitch, dressmaking, patchwork and machine-knitting. However, it wasn’t until I visited the US that I discovered scrap books. In fact, how I got interested was serendipity. In my forties my life took a few interesting turns, one of which took me to the US. I decided to study for an honours degree in American Studies and this necessitated a year’s study in the States. I applied to Wellesley College, Massachusetts, and much to my surprise and delight I was accepted. So in 1995, at the grand old age of 47, I found myself living alongside a bunch of fabulous young American students and it was they who introduced me to scrapbooking. I quickly became fascinated and loved the idea of doing something more with my many photographs than just storing them in photo albums. I bought a couple of magazines and a few supplies in Boston and made my first layouts ... not very good ones at that. Back in the UK, I was in the final year and all my time was taken up with writing papers and studying for exams. The scrapbooking took a back seat. After graduating I got a job in another university and I was so busy I never could find time to sit down and scrap. To cut an even longer story short, I didn’t get out my scrapbook supplies until a few years ago when I retired and I haven’t stopped scrapping, and subsequently cardmaking, since – and I am now quite addicted J

Here are a couple of layouts I’ve made recently.

These photographs were taken during my first semester at Wellesley College – I absolutely loved the sugar maples. The stamped leaves on the base paper, Cosmo Cricket’s Maple, are embossed using four different colours of powder, gold, crimson, burgundy and lime light. The berries and the alphas for the word ‘fall’ in the title were fussy cut from K& Company Flora and Fauna collection and the rest of the title are made up of Papermania alphas.

This wonderfully proud gentleman is my great-grandfather, James Patrick Douglas. The layout is made using leftovers and scraps and was inspired by Sarah Engels-Greer creations featured in the October 12 issue of Craft Stamper. The Kraft base was sponged with white gesso before adding the stamping with Dawn Bibby’s Delicate Scroll and bits and bobs from my snippets pile. I searched a biographical dictionary to find a page that featured the name Douglas. The title was die-cut using X-Cut’s Rome Alphabet Die and a strip of tartan patterned paper – sadly, not the Douglas tartan.

I hope you enjoyed reading my story and like my layouts.

Regards

Elizabeth

BTS by Elizabeth

Our BTS challenge this month has so many possibilities! Go here to see how you too can play and maybe be our next guest designer!!!Thanks, Deb♥

Our designer Elizabeth is back today to show her BTS, here ya go...

The Scrap our Stash challenge's theme this month is BTS which usually means Back to School, but the twist in the challenge is that we are to use your stash with anything that begins with the letters B T S.

However, the first thing I thought of when I read the theme, BTS, for September's Scrap Our Stash challenge was this photograph. Taken in 2000, it's of three of my grandchildren, looking incredibly smart and, judging by their smiles, ready for their first day back at school after the summer holidays.

So I decided to go ahead and create a layout entitled Back To School but in the spirit of the challenge I used (B)uttons, (T)rim and (S)teve's Pages from my stash.

I truly raided my stash for this layout so the papers are not from a particular collection but from various sources - Sugartree's Steve's Pages School Days; Sandylion's School Pencil Crayons (matting); Daisy Bucket's, My Little Monster's Share Your Toys (trim) and Bloomin Paislies, Charming Claire (flowers) ; Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts Ledger (journaling). Somehow it worked!

The stickers, including the title alphas, are from an Inspirations bumper book of stickers from Designworks that I've had for years and the buttons are also from stash.

BTS by Brenda

Our BTS challenge this month has so many possibilities! Go here to see how you too can play and maybe be our next guest designer!!!Thanks, Deb♥

Remember our guest designer Brenda who was here last month? Well, Brenda, created such lovely projects to share that I just had to offer her a position here at SOS! Here is she is today with her BTS and what she would like us to know about it:

I could not wait to scrap this adorable photo of my great nephew taken on his first day of school and this challenge was the perfect opportunity. My mojo has been on vacation lately and I think this cute photo and fun school themed papers and chipboard from the Fancy Pants “Off To School” collection was just what I need to get my scrap on!

The challenge was to use (B)ack (T)o (S)chool as the inspiration to create a project and here is what I came up with:
(B) Border, Bracket, Buttons, Brown
(T) Tag, Tab, Thickers
(S) Star, Sneaker, Sketch by Heather Waldron

Not only did this challenge help my mojo find its way back home, I was able to use product I have had sitting in my stash for quite some time!

Looking forward to seeing all of your BTS projects!!!

Here is our designer Debbie with her take!

I loved this month's challenge. It was like a mini recipe to follow. This layout is all about using up the older product! My "B" is the buttons on my stars, as well as all the color blue that I used on this layout. The "T" is the word tape that I used as a border. I have had this in my stash forever! I got it at the dollar store a few years ago. And the "S" is my stars. The quote and the stars were die cuts that My Mind's Eye made more than 8 years ago. They are the "This & That, Tags & Things". Do you remember those? I can't believe I hung onto them for so long. But now I'm glad I did. This page is for my son's baby album that I started recently. The photos aren't the greatest, but they bring back so many wonderful memories from 33 years ago.

BTS by Charlotte

Very fun challenge this month using the initials BTS to create a layout. I decided on B- Bo Bunny, T-Twine and S-Sew Stamper. This is my Daughter and Grandson at Mom and Tot's Swim class! He enjoyed the water so much and loved when we would come and watch him! Hope you join in the challenge and come up with some fun things to use from your stash! http://scrapsational-char.blogspot.ca/

Pagerize This #22 by Elizabeth

This month we are Pagerizing aka Scraplifting Debbie, one of our great designers here at SOS. She created this layout:

Then I pagerized her with this:

and now Our English Designer Elizabeth has made this one and had this to say:

I thought this layout would be ideal for a collage of Olympic photographs I'd collected throughout the event.

As you can see the layout and the embellishments are all very simple ... it relies mainly on pennants, cut from the card, for interest. The rosettes, which no longer look anything like men's pajamas, are made from 1" wide strips of the striped paper, scored at 1cm intervals, folded in concertina fashion, ends adhered together and then, once persuaded into shape, adhered to a circle punched from the red card. All the stars were traced using the stencil and then cut out. Two larger red ones for the rosettes and two smaller blue ones to decorate the pennant at the top of the layout.

Thanks for looking and I hope you like the layout.

Elizabeth

Do you see similarities in our layouts?
Come on and play along too!
